Item Description:
Up for sale is a fantastic lot of two (2) authentic, original vintage black-and-white military snapshots from Bulgaria, dating to the pre-WWII interwar era. This matching set offers a rare, candid glimpse into the military social life of Bulgarian army officers and soldiers gathered together for a formal banquet or celebratory gala feast.
Photo Details:
• Photo 1 (High Angle Banquet): An incredible birds-eye perspective showing dozens of military personnel seated along an expansive, U-shaped dining table arrangement. The officers are predominantly dressed in crisp white summer tunics with formal shoulder boards, enjoying a large spread of food and drinks. Features a classic deckle edge.
• Photo 2 (Table Close-up): A wonderful close-up shot capturing a poignant moment at the table, where two officers are shaking hands or clasping hands warmly across the corner of the dining table. Other uniform-clad personnel and a gentleman in a civilian suit look on from behind. Features a classic deckle edge.
Historical Context & Paper Specifics:
These photos show the classic summer service uniforms, tunics, and shoulder boards characteristic of the royal Bulgarian military during the 1930s. The backs of both photographs are blank, retaining their natural age-related texture, with no writing or stamps present.
Condition:
Both photographs are original vintage items in very good condition. They exhibit rich contrast, clean margins, and clear historical details. The close-up photo shows a very small piece of black album paper residue or a minor clip mark on the upper-left corner tip from being stored in a vintage album. Please check the high-resolution images carefully to inspect specific condition details.
An excellent, highly aesthetic addition for collectors of Bulgarian militaria, military dining/social traditions, or Eastern European vintage photography.
