Offered for sale is a matching pair of antique 1934 Connecticut commercial vehicle license plates, both displaying registration number 22-073.

These historic metal plates feature a light-colored background with dark blue embossed registration characters. The word COMMERCIAL appears across the top of each plate, with CONN. at the lower left and 1934 at the lower right.

Dating to the Great Depression era, these plates are more than 90 years old and represent an interesting piece of Connecticut's early commercial transportation history.

Both plates have matching registration numbers and are being sold together as one pair.

In 1934, Franklin D. Roosevelt was President of the United States, and the country was experiencing the economic challenges of the Great Depression.

Commercial vehicles played an important role in keeping American businesses operating during this period. Trucks and other working vehicles transported agricultural products, merchandise, construction materials, and supplies throughout Connecticut and the surrounding New England states.

Connecticut issued license plates specifically designated for commercial vehicles, distinguishing them from standard passenger automobile registrations.

The prominent COMMERCIAL lettering on these plates identifies their original registration classification and makes them particularly interesting to collectors of antique trucks and historic working vehicles.

These surviving plates offer a tangible connection to the development of American commercial transportation during the early 20th century.
