The Rockwell-MBB X-31 was a groundbreaking, joint international program between DARPA, the German Ministry of Defense (GMOD), the U.S. Navy, MBB, and Rockwell International to demonstrate Enhanced Fighter Maneuverability (EFM) through pioneering thrust-vectoring technologies.
This specific patch commemorates the historic "First Flight" of the aircraft, which took place on October 11, 1990.
