Wonderful vintage PJ’s Carousel Collection “FLAG” carousel horse, made in Newbern, Virginia, and modeled after an early Dentzel-style carousel horse.This distinctive patriotic example features a gray horse with a flowing cream mane and tail, elaborate gold American eagle decoration, red-white-and-blue American flag motifs, detailed bridle and saddle, and gold accents.Mounted on its original finished wood display base with brass-tone spiral carousel pole. Original metal plaque reads:“P.J.’s Carousel Collection – Replica of Early DENTZEL STYLE – Made in Newbern, VA.”The underside of the base is factory stamped “FLAG,” identifying the model.Vintage condition with minor age-related paint/finish wear and imperfections consistent with a hand-finished collectible.
