Vintage Matched Pair Picture Frames French Revival Gold Plated Brass 16\"x13\" LG For Sale

Matching pair of early-to-mid 20th-century picture frames in the French revival style. Gold plated brass surrounds, pierced floral corner ornaments and narrow metal inner fillets. One backer still retains the \'Guaranteed 24 Karat Gold Plated\' label. Both include cream ribbed window mats, patterned full-sheet mat backers, and paper/cardboard backing sheets beneath the black velvet-covered easel backs. Folding stand with retaining ribbon and wire hangars, all functional. Sold together as a pair, unsigned and undetermined country of origin. Likely European for English / American export.

Each frame measures approximately 13\" wide by 16\" high overall. The visible opening inside the gold fillet measures approximately 10-3/8\" wide by 13-1/4\" high. Photo size is flexible, 11x14 will fit nicely with a bit of crop, or a smaller 10x12 could be done with a thin mat and slight crop. These actually work well for full border photo displays as well since the backing mat is a nice exposed finish.

• Good overall condition with strong remaining gold color compared to most frames I\'ve seen of this age. Light oxidation around the outer perimeters and minor edge and corner rubbing. All corner ornaments are secure, and both frames are solid.
• One frame has a very slight bow to a section of its rear retaining lip, not obvious.
• Both window mats have some discoloration where they meet the metal, with light toning and scattered foxing on the exposed areas. The full-sheet mat backers have a few lines where the window mats have rested against them.
• The mats remain presentable for their age and suitable for displaying vintage photographs or artwork, but they do not appear new.
• The glass in both frames has small edge and corner chips concealed beneath the frame borders when assembled, they fit tight.
• Black velvet-covered backs have light wear and age-related fading, with decent remaining nap and no noticeable shedding. Both easel retaining ribbons are intact, and the wire hangers appear strong. Interior backing papers have some toning and foxing.
• The natural-light photographs provide the best representation of color and condition.

The frames will be individually wrapped using archival packing materials, with protective backers to shield the glass and prevent rubbing, then fitted into a double-walled reinforced box for safe transit.
