*SAN MARTIN DE PORRES :San Martinde Porres is the patron saint of Black people, mixed-race people, barbers,innkeepers, public health workers, and all those seeking racial harmony.
Martín dePorres Velázquez was a Peruvian brother of the Dominican Order who wasbeatified in 1837 by Pope Gregory XVI and canonized in 1962 by Pope John XXIII.He was noted for his work on behalf of the poor, establishing an orphanage anda children\'s hospital. He maintained an austere lifestyle, which includedfasting and abstaining from meat. Among the many miracles attributed to himwere those of levitation, bilocation, miraculous knowledge, instantaneouscures, and an ability to communicate with animals.
The painting is in great vintage condition; absolutely minimal surface imperfections-one small surface scratch. Frame (and stretching) are made in Mexico; very good condition; solid wood with hand-painted gilded detailing.
