A near mint condition Carl Schlieper Eye Brand half Congress, Model 54Y,with smooth yellow Delrin (or similar) scales.
Measures approximately 3 3/8 inches long overall, closed. Master Wharncliffe blade measures approximately 2 inches long, edge only. Obverse blade etched “Carl Schlieper Hammered Forged Solingen Germany” with the eye brand. Obverse tang stamped “C. Schlieper” in an arch over the eye brand and “Solingen Germany”. Reverse tang stamped “54Y”. Serrated nail nick. Secondary sheep foot blade measures approximately 1 3/8 inches long, edge only. Serrated nail nick. Obverse tang stamped with the Eye Brand over “Germany”. Smooth yellow Delrin (or similar) scales secured by three pins, obverse with shield stamped with the Eye Brand mark and “Solingen”. Brass liners. Pinched nickel silver bolsters.
Good snap to both blades. Scales good with no chips or cracks. Some very light rubs to bolsters.
