Famous Car 26Robin\'s NestAntique Matted Photograph1913Rare and Historic 1913 Portland, Oregon Streetcar Interior Photograph - Car No. 26Up for sale is an incredible, authentic antique photograph capturing one of the Pacific Northwest\'s most heartwarming early 20th-century news stories. In May 1913, a wild robin built her nest directly on top of the Johnson fare register inside active streetcar No. 26 of the Portland Railway, Light and Power Company, which ran the Irvington-Jefferson line. Rather than disturbing her, transit crews and passengers allowed the bird to stay. She successfully hatched her eggs and raised her chicks while riding the city streets every day, becoming a national human-interest sensation.Visual Highlights:

• The Robin on Her Nest: Visible directly above the central fare register.
• Car Details: Features the bold \"26.\" fleet number and the interior woodwork of an early pay-as-you-enter wooden car.
• Authentic Placards: Features a prominent interior \"NOTICE\" sign (\"By Order of the Board of Health\") warning passengers against spitting—a common anti-tuberculosis public health measure of the era.
• Safety Inscription: Features the classic \"DO NOT GET OFF UNTIL CAR STOPS\" safety lettering along the lower frame.
