Antique cabinet card photograph identified in pencil on the reverse as “Pawnee Bill and May Lillie.”
Full-length studio portrait showing the couple in Western attire with firearms. May wears shooting medals, while Pawnee Bill is seated on an animal-skin-covered bench. The mount bears the printed photographer’s imprint of Pentz & Swords, York, Pennsylvania.
Believed to date to the late 19th century. Identification is based on the handwritten notation and comparison with published examples; the photograph has not been professionally authenticated. The writing on the back is an identifying inscription, not represented as either sitter’s autograph.
Condition: Visible fading, discoloration, spotting, surface marks, and wear to the mount’s edges and corners. Small marks or possible pinholes appear near the upper edge. Please examine all photographs closely for condition.
You will receive the exact cabinet card pictured.
