This striking stone pendant presents the deity in profile with an elaborate feathered crest, prominent circular eye, open mouth with carved teeth, and deeply modeled scroll and feather motifs. The detailed relief carving creates a powerful sculptural representation of one of the most recognizable supernatural beings in Mesoamerican iconography.
The serpentine stone displays attractive mottled green, gray, and darker natural variations, complemented by reddish deposits within the recessed carving that emphasize the intricate design.
