MARGUERITE BRESIL : FRENCH STAGE & FILM ACTRESS : NEURDEIN BROTHERS : NADAR RPPC For Sale

This vintage real photo postcard features French theatre and film actress, Marguerite Bresil (1880-1961). She made her stage debut in Paris in "Petit Chagrin" (1899). She appeared at all the major Parisian theatres as well as in early silent films. It is unclear as to who the photographer is who took this lovely portrait photo of Mlle. Bresil. It appears that the postcard was published by Neurdein Freres and the photograph was taken by esteemed celebrity photographer, Paul Nadar. The Neurdein brothers (A. Neurdein and E. Neurdein) have at least nine portraits in the National Portrait Gallery. The brothers established a photo studio in Paris during the 1860's. They were known for their landscape, architectural, and portrait photography. The studio operated into the twentieth century. This vintage postcard portrait is in very good condition (see scans).
