Connolly Jr. HS Yearbook Annual 1988 Middle School Tempe, AZ Crusaders Signed For Sale

Connolly Jr. HS Yearbook 1988. This annual belonged to my mother who was a Home Economics teacher at Connolly for many years. It is signed by dozens of students on many of the pages.
The inside covers (front and back)) and the fly leaves (also front and back) are almost completely covered with well wishes (see pictures). Also, several inside pages have student signatures on them (see pictures).
The front cover has some sort of oil or light staining on it (see pictures). My mother's name and address are written on the top corner of the inside front cover. The rest of the inside front cover and both sides of the fly leaf are covered with well wishes and autographs from students, as is the title page (see pictures). A note about this yearbook: many of the pictures are very light and faded as if they were overdeveloped. This starts on the title page and continues throughout the book (see pictures).
The annual begins with dedications to the principal, Mrs. Doris Cornett, and two teachers, Mrs. Alverson and Mr. Williams, who are retiring. It continues with pictures of the principal and assistant principal, as well as the school board members. The next page is pictures of office staff, counselors, and nurses. There is a faculty title page and pictures of teachers, aides and custodians.
The yearbook then has photos of students arriving at school and candid shots. Following this are baby pictures on one page and current pictures of the students on the facing page. A page is dedicated to styles of the era and a cover page for the eighth grade individual photos arranged alphabetically. Both of these pages are heavily signed (see photos). Eighth grade photos are followed by two pages of candids and the results of a survey of eighth graders about who has the "cutest smile," is "best dressed," "most athletic, "most likely to succeed," etcetera.
The next pages are a photo collage of pictures taken throughout the year and the cover page for the seventh grade photos. This page is signed (see photos). Next are seventh grade pictures in alphabetical order followed by more candid shots. The next two pages are teachers and their purported sayings. I sincerely wonder if these teachers actually routinely said these things, but it's interesting to consider. Following these pages is the cover page for activities which is signed (see pictures), and then pages of photos of the musical groups such as choirs, bands and orchestras, and then pictures of the Photojournalism and Journalism classes, Student Council and National Junior Honor Society.
Following the various activities is a page of pictures from dances and the elected royalty. The next page is another collage, this time of athletic photos followed by the cover page for Athletics. In the Athletics section are photos of the Spirit Line, Intermural team, Volleyball teams, Softball and Baseball teams, and the Basketball teams. Finally, there is a page of pictures of students leaving school. The last page is labeled "Autographs" and tit is full, as are the fly leaf and inside back cover.
The book is in decent shape-- no loose pages or rips, but the cover is slightly worn on the corners. This in no way affects the information inside. For students who attended Connolly in 1988, or for their offspring, this is a fun walk down memory lane.
