This antique Robeson “Shuredge” (etched in script) Rochester NY 2-Blade Pocket Knife with ivory celluloid handle and brass liners & brass rounded bolsters was owned by my NY grandfather who mostly used the knife for making his own reeds as a professional musician.
In the pics, I have 2 that I took through a magnifying glass. One which shows “Shuredge” in cursive writing and underneath “ROCHESTER, N.Y.” and the other with the numbers, of which I could only make out 5 of them: “42205.”
This pocket knife dates between 1922 and 1939 (after 1926, making it vintage, not antique).
The celluloid looks to be in good condition. It is smooth on back and front. The blades do have a snap when they close. The blades are stiff and somewhat difficult to open and close. I would assume this can be easily remedied.
The knife measures approximately 3-3/4” x 1” x 1/2” It weighs 2.7 oz.
