Antique Billhead Collins Wheaton & Luhrs 1877 San Francisco Dealers In Provisions.
Collin's Wheaton & Luhrs opened up in San Francisco around 1868, working from a premier address at Front and Sacramento streets. They operated as wholesale provision merchants, dealing in goods like butter, cheese, pork, and lard. The company is well known today among collectors of antique jars and labels. They commissioned rare glass packaging, such as aqua or sea green half-gallon jars.
Unfortunately the hand-written part of this invoice is badly faded, making it hard to impossible to read the details. I believe it was sent to N.S. Trowbridge & Co., a massive general merchant operation based out of the mining boomtown of Tybo, Nevada. As far as the items purchased, I can't hazard a guess.
In very good condition. It has some creasing and light corner wear. A tiny tear along the top edge. The back side has a little discolored strip on the right side. No other signs of wear or aging. The bill is crisp, firm, and clean.
Thanks for looking at my document, and we hope you come back to Dry Creek often. We ask for two business days to get an item shipped, and will accept returns for thirty days after purchase. We happily bundle and offer a discount for multiple purchases. We like all our items, but we're not in love with any of them- we've got them here to sell. Make an offer, and we'll work something out. I'd love to hear from you if you have questions or comments- message me, and I'll usually respond in just a few moments.
