Antique 1901 Pan-American Exposition EAPG ruby-stained, etched toothpick holder that was originally from of the World's Fair in Buffalo. This antique Early American Pattern Glass (EAPG) toothpick holder was purchased as a custom souvenir at the historic 1901 Pan-American Exposition held in Buffalo, New York. It is a unique and decorative piece that was personalized right at the fair , for its original owner Mrs. Mindnich in 1901 , and captures the essence of the fair and the craftsmanship of the era and is a highly collectible piece of Western New York history.
Manufactured by A.H. Heisey & Co. in their celebrated Pattern #1295, universally known to collectors as "Beaded Swag." This pattern debuted in 1899. This early piece is features the classic multi-point starburst pressed into the bottom base. This piece is a desirable early production run made before Heisey began marking its pieces in late in 1901.

Local archives map this to Ottilia (Mary) Mindnich, the wife of Otto Mindnich—famous German-immigrant musician who served as the choir director and schoolmaster at Buffalo's historic St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church in the Black Rock neighborhood for 40 years. This piece was custom-engraved for her at the fairgrounds midway in her hometown.
Excellent overall antique condition. The distinctive scalloped, beaded rim is structurally flawless with no chips, cracks, flea-bites, or rough breaks. The rich ruby stain/flash finish remains vibrant. There is minor, age-appropriate light surface scratching to the red finish as pictured, which is expected for genuine utilitarian glass of this vintage era.
