Antique 1900s Large French Homespun Linen Sheet Red Work Monogram B347 For Sale

A classic old French homespun linen sheet with a handstitched seam in the center. This sheet is unusual for its large size which would accommodate almost any bed. It has a beautifully embroidered “C” in one corner and a “W” in the opposite corner - in heavy redwork hand stitching. As is frequently the case with these old sheets, when they became weak or torn, they were often cut and patched almost like a quilt to preserve them. This one has 2 such large hand stitched patches.

The condition is excellent. We find a few very small repairs, as pictured, one tiny spot and an area of weak fiber, all pictured. Hand laundered - bright and fresh!
