📌 DESCRIPTION

A compelling addition to a specialized U.S. Army Psychological Operations or Army Special Operations collection, this Bravo Company, 6th Psychological Operations Battalion (Airborne) challenge coin combines a clearly identified airborne PSYOP company with the recognition inscription “FOR EXCELLENCE.” Its specific B6 designation, recognizable military heraldry, and substantial dual-sided construction distinguish it from general battalion and branch challenge coins.

The 6th Psychological Operations Battalion (Airborne) has a longstanding history within the 4th Psychological Operations Group (Airborne), part of the U.S. Army Special Operations community. Psychological Operations personnel support military objectives through carefully planned information activities, communication, and influence operations directed toward selected foreign audiences. This coin’s company-level identification connects that specialized mission to a particular element of the battalion.

The B6 side prominently displays a red arrowhead bearing a vertical dagger, positioned beneath the traditional AIRBORNE tab. Large white B6 lettering identifies Bravo Company, while six black stars flank the central design. The surrounding inscription reads “SI VIS PACEM PARA BELLUM,” the Latin maxim meaning “If you want peace, prepare for war.” The combination of the red insignia, black enamel background, and polished gold-tone border creates a bold, immediately recognizable military design.

The opposite side identifies “BRAVO COMPANY, 6TH PSYOP BATTALION (AIRBORNE)” surrounding the distinctive Psychological Operations chess knight emblem. The raised knight appears against a detailed globe grid, flanked by lightning-bladed swords. The chess knight reflects the indirect approach central to Psychological Operations, while the globe and lightning imagery emphasize worldwide operational reach and the rapid communication of information. The inscription “FOR EXCELLENCE” gives this particular design an additional recognition-focused distinction.
