1913 Buffalo Bill Cody & Indigenous Troupe Winnipeg Postcard Regina Postmark RPO
Up for sale is a fantastic piece of Western Americana and Canadian postal history. This original, antique postcard features William F. \"Buffalo Bill\" Cody seated alongside members of his Wild West show troupe at the historic Old Fort Garry Gateway in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The front caption reads \"Buffalo Bill and his Indians at Old Fort Garry Gateway, Winnipeg, Man.\" The picture is beautifully colored and captures Buffalo Bill in his signature wide-brimmed hat surrounded by Indigenous performers in traditional attire. The SPECIAL Features include a highly collectible \"Provincial Exhibition, Regina, Sask. July 28 - Aug 3, 1913\" machine slogan cancellation stamp. The stamp features a well-centered, green Canadian 1-Cent King George V stamp. The handwritten message reads \"What do you think of Aunt Augie taking to all these Indians. Love, Aunt Augie.\"
CONDITION: This card is good/very good condition for being over 110 years old. It shows normal signs of age including minor corner rounding, light edge wear, and natural toning on the reverse side. The stamp and postmarks are clear and legible. Please see photos for more details.
