Original 1913 photographic print showing William F. “Buffalo Bill” Cody with Harry H. Tammen at the railroad station in Kansas City.
The scene dates to a significant period in Cody’s career. In 1913, Cody’s Wild West operation was experiencing serious financial difficulties, and Tammen — co-owner of The Denver Post and associated with the Sells-Floto Circus — was closely involved with Cody during this period.
This photograph shows a different exposure from the better-known photograph of Cody and Tammen at the Kansas City station. Cody is turned toward Tammen rather than facing the camera, and the positioning of the men and background figures differs.
Research into the photograph and its reverse markings supports its connection to the documented 1913 Kansas City series.
The reverse bears period archive/editorial markings, including the number “50051” and a circled “6.”
