1895-1905 Cabinet Card BORDER COLLIE PUPS A.S. Ralph, Columbus, Wisconsin For Sale

Original antique, compelling cabinet card photograph showing a lively passel of puppies (with obvious collie/border collie blood in them) gathered on straw in a rustic setting. The image dates to approximately 1895–1905 and was taken by A. S. Ralph of Columbus, Wisconsin, whose studio credit appears on the reverse. Ralph was a regional photographer of the day.

The photograph has good clarity and tonal range. Sepia toned throughout either by design or as a function of aging. A charming example of early American animal photography and rural life at the turn of the 20th century.
