Offered here is an original 1888 Annual Pass from the New York & New England Railroad and its branches.
This pass is individually numbered (No. 1738) and dated 1888 in red print. It was issued to a General Superintendent, indicating executive-level railroad usage during the late 19th century.
The front features bold “New York and New England Railroad and Branches” typography with handwritten issuance and period ink signature of the General Superintendent.
The reverse contains an interesting transportation clause allowing exchange for steamer passage on the Norwich and New York Transportation Company between New London and New York — a desirable maritime connection reference that adds historical depth.
Dated “Until Dec. 31, 1888.”
Condition:
Original card stock with light age toning consistent with its 19th century age. Ink remains strong and legible. Please review photos for exact condition.
