Dated November 20, 1877, this account was made out to M. CLOVE of the Spring Iron Works, Sylvan Lake, New York, offering a fascinating glimpse into the provisions and specialty food supply networks serving industrial enterprises in the late 19th century.
The handwritten order lists a wide variety of grocery goods including select sugar, pepper, molasses, salt, soap powder, tobacco, currants, raisins, sardines, and other staples, totaling approximately $281.99.
