Lewis Don Leet was born July 1, 1901 in Alliance, Ohio, the

son of Kline Fetterman Leet and Lela Grace Caskey, both graduates of Mt. Union

College. Lewis died January 2, 1974 age 72, professor emeritus of geology at

Harvard University, after a notable career as seismologist, geologist, and

engineering consultant. His father, a Cleveland lawyer and East

Cleveland commissioner for many years, traced his ancestry to William Leete,

governor of the New Haven Colony (1661-1665); and of the Colony of Connecticut

(1676-1683). Lewis married in 1925, Frances Adeline Brokaw and later

divorced. THEIR CHILDREN: Nancy A Leet born April 3, 1934 in Harvard,

Mass. married April 3, 1954, Cameron Saunders Thompson Jr US Navy. Son, Dr

Robert Kline Leet born July 1935 in Harvard, Mass.
