View Larger Image   Stanley No. 6 Fore Plane 1920s Era Antique   Description: Offering this clean No. 6 (smooth bottom) fore plane retaining over 30% of it's original Japanning in very good working condition with nice solid rosewood handle and front knob. The tote or handle has a an old solid crack repair on the tote around the mid-section of the handle, it was removed and tested, still solid, good strong repair and useable. The rosewood knob is nice, with a some tiny dings and scratches, very solid. This plane is marked "STANLEY MADE IN U.S.A." on the cutter with the rectangular logo. Also marked "BAILEY NO. 6 U.S. PAT. Apr. 19-10" on the bed casting. There is no cracks in the metal casting, little wear or a few edge dings. We note some minor pitting on less than 10% of the bare cast iron surfaces, but no active rust now. The corrigated bottom is clean, flat and smooth, plenty of length on the sharp cutter as it is nearly new condition, and all the adjustments work smoothly.
