View Larger Image   Stanley No. 5 Jack Plane Type 19 1950's   Description: This is a nice clean Stanley Bailey No. 5 Jack Plane. Made between 1948-1961. This plane is clean, has a nice near full length cutter, sharp and ready to work. The casting has no cracks, few minor scratches, nice clean bare metal surfaces. The black Japanning is about 95% intact. The cap cover has the Stanley trade mark in orange on it and has lost about 15% of it's nickel plating. The rosewood front knob is in great shape, little wear to the heavy lacquer finish, solid no cracks. The tote handle is solid, no cracks, with a few tiny dings on the top edge, most of the wear is on the heavy clear laquer finish which is about 80% intact. A good Jack plane, ready to work! This is a good quality plane from the 1948-61 era, has the heavier side walls on the bed casting, and the frog, lateral, and cutter depth adjustments, all in very good condition.
