View Larger Image   Atkins No. 65 Silver Steel Cross Cut Hand Saw 20 inch   Description: This is a fine example of a rarely seen, quality made straight back cross cut hand saw for the early 1950's era! It has a very nice etch on the 20" long blade, marked ATKINS SILVER STEEL MADE IN INDIANAPOLIS IND. U.S.A. ATKINS SAW DIVISION BORG-WARNER CORP. NO. 65 STRAIGHT BACK" in and around the oval logo. It is also marked in script "THIS SILVER STEEL SAW IS UNEXCELLED IN MATERIAL, WORKMANSHIP, DURABILITY AND GENUINE DAMASKEEN FINISH". The blade has 11 teeth points per inch, is sharp, no damage, ready to use. The handle is a darker fruitwood, with wheat type carving on one side, and nickel plated fittings, in very good condition, a few ting dings or scratches noted on the fittings. The medallion is marked with the Atkins triple AAA logo, and reads, "ATKINS" under the logo. The handle is about 97% like new with minor scratches, and on the side opposite the carving is a small 4 groove owner's mark, no chips or cracks.
