Slate Nail Ripper Cutter Rare Antique!   Description: This is a nice clean antique nail cutter, designed for use on slate roofs, to slide under the slate and cut the nails allowing a damaged slate piece to be removed and replaced. This is a rare maker, and we know little about this company. The tool is marked "B.O. PAINE CO." on the under side of the main stock. This maker made their ripper in three sections, the cutting section, middle section, and handle section, using different steel, with different benifets for each area, including a hardened cutting section, and a softer steel handle and hammering area. As you can see in the pictures, this one has not been used much, and it's in great shape overall, with very good cutting sections, basically sharpened all the way around the arrow shaped tip.
