c1960's 35mm Slide Film Apollo Lunar Module Ascent Stage Liftoff Moon For Sale

The image captures the dramatic liftoff of the Apollo Lunar Module's ascent stage from the lunar surface, a pivotal moment in space exploration history. The lower descent stage remains on the Moon, serving as a launch platform for the crew's return to orbit. A bright exhaust plume emanates from the ascent engine, propelling the upper section upwards, surrounded by a cloud of debris and lunar dust. The ascent stage, with its distinctive faceted design and antenna, is clearly visible against the deep red background, which represents the color shift of the original film stock. This scene depicts the critical maneuver that allowed astronauts to rejoin the Command Module orbiting the Moon. The lunar surface below appears rugged and cratered, rendered in stark white and red tones. This slide offers a compelling visual record for collectors interested in the Apollo program and mid-century space race artifacts. The composition effectively conveys the power and isolation of this extraterrestrial event. The slide exhibits some dust and minor scratches. SKU: B4-1-18
