c1950s Sunoco Night Photograph Christmas Lights Verso Hot Shoppes: $11.99
A night photograph of a service station strung with Christmas lights, with a lit Christmas tree behind the office and 1940s-1950s cars parked in front. The illuminated diamond sign reads SUNOCO. The verso is penciled \"Hot Shoppes.\" Those are two different businesses. Hot Shoppes was J. Willard Marriott\'s restaurant chain in the Washington area, opened in 1927 and closed in 1999. It was not a Sunoco dealer, and no Hot Shoppes location turned up that operated under a Sunoco sign. The camera is aimed at the station. Hot Shoppes is only the handwritten place note, so it names where the print was filed, likely a nearby restaurant or the stop, rather than the building in the frame. Superior and Washington, D.C. are not written on the print. Size of photo: approximately 4.75 x 6.75 inches
