Ledger / accounts (1900–1906): Multiple entries recording sales of clothing and household goods, with frequent notes of payments from Mary Bell and others—evidence of a small domestic trade or shop ledger. Personal reflection: A striking two-page poem titled “Farewell” — an unusually somber piece expressing fatigue with the world, indifference to judgment, and resignation to mortality. This emotional entry stands apart from the domestic tone, offering a rare glimpse into the writer’s inner life.
