Handwoven basket attributed to the Wounaan / Emberá style from the people of Panama and Colombia. This piece features a detailed geometric print. l believe it was created using traditional techniques and natural chunga palm fibers. The weave is exceptionally tight and uniform, indicating skilled craftsmanship. These baskets are both functional and decorative and are widely collected as examples of indigenous Latin American folk art. These were purchased 2nd hand and do not have any stamps/stickers so I am not 100% sure of origin. AI attributes them to Wounaan or Embera. This basket is in great condition, there is a small amount of pink on the interior bottom, can’t be seen when displayed. See last photo.
