Wonderful Antique Edwardian Tuck Mechanical Animal Die Cut Embossed Elephant HTF For Sale

Thisis a die-cut thick paper/thin cardboard embossed Indian elephant,jointed in the middle so you can move him back and forth. He was partof a set of “Father Tuck's Animals and their Riders” that wasmade by Raphael Tuck & Sons in 1910, but he has lost his rider.This elephant measures about 7 ½ inches long by about 6 ½ inchestall. He has a cute poem by Norman Gale printed on the back. Althoughdie-cut scraps are often reproduced in modern versions, I have notseen any modern reproductions of these mechanical animals, and thisone is genuinely old. It is in very good used condition; nothing ismissing, torn, or creased. I LOVE these mechanical animals Tuckmade!!! They're big and pretty and super well-made and well-designedand the artwork is excellent! They really have everything. I'd havebeen thrilled to have been given a set of these as an Edwardianchild. I want to keep them all, but I'm trying to stick just to theanimals I collect, which isn't easy! I have to keep reminding myselfI've got to make a living.
