Whitney Museum Miniature Pewter Architectural Model Replica Building New YorkFor sale is a miniature pewter replica of the iconic example of urban Brutalism originally completed in 1966 by Bauhaus trained architect Marcel Breuer for the WHITNEY MUSEUM OF AMERICAN ART. Its inverted ziggurat form, with its recessed windows and robust concrete facade was designed to provoke.
Now known as The Breuer Building the landmark building is now Sotheby\'s new worldwide headquarters and home to their galleries at 945 Madison Avenue. This high quality, nicely detailed model measures 2 3/4\" tall on a 2 7/8\" x 2 1/2\" base and weighs 12 oz.
The replica model is from my personal collection, purchased new in 2000, and is in excellent condition (see photos).
