Weller Pottery Kingfisher Bird Blue Woodland 5 5/8" Double Bud Vase Flower Frog 1930s-1940s

This charming Weller Pottery Kingfisher Bird Double Bud Vase Flower Frog is in Excellent Vintage Condition with No Chips, No Cracks, and No Repairs. NOTE: There is fine natural crazing consistent with its age. Standing 5 5/8" high, this beautifully glazed pottery novelty features a vibrant blue kingfisher with burgundy and creamy yellow accents perched on a naturalistic woodland stump. The functional design includes two bud vase openings, with one side incorporating three additional flower frog holes for arranging small floral displays. A scarce and highly decorative piece, it is a wonderful addition to any Weller Pottery or American art pottery collection.

ITEM DESCRIPTION

Colorfully glazed kingfisher bird perched on a textured woodland stump forming a combination double bud vase and flower frog. The naturalistic base features two bud vase openings, while one side also includes three smaller flower frog holes designed to hold individual flower stems securely in place. Although unmarked, the clay body, glaze, and molded design are characteristic of Weller Pottery's whimsical novelty wares produced during the late 1930s and early 1940s.

Excellent Vintage Condition with No Chips, No Cracks, and No Repairs.

NOTE: There is fine natural crazing consistent with its age.

Glazes remain bright and glossy with excellent color throughout. Light wear consistent with age and careful handling.
