Black Jasperware Trinket Box
Neoclassical Style, 20th Century
This lobed, star-shaped trinket box is a classic example of Wedgwood's black jasperware, a matte, unglazed stoneware originally developed in the late 18th century. The piece features detailed white bas-relief applications depicting a central chariot scene on the lid surrounded by floral motifs, with various classical figures and cherubs adorning the sides against the dark matte background.

Condition: Good used condition. The stoneware surface shows minor handling marks and light dust in the crevices of the relief, consistent with age and previous use. The structural integrity is excellent with no visible chips, cracks, or repairs to the black body or the white relief decorations. The lid fits securely on the base.
