Set during the turbulent transition from the Jin Dynasty into the Sixteen Kingdoms era, Weapons of the Gods follows the contention of rival pugilistic clans for the divine weapon known as Heaven\'s Crystal. The story centers on Tian, a foot soldier and orphan raised by a criminal society\'s chef, whose martial arts have blossomed alongside his cooking — and who finds himself drawn into a conflict far older and more dangerous than he bargained for.
Tony Wong\'s own creation, not an adaptation. Alongside Oriental Heroes, this is one of the two works he\'s best known for. Wong is widely called the \"Godfather of Hong Kong comics\" and also provided the art for DC\'s Batman: Hong Kong.
Also of note for tabletop gamers: Eos Press published the Weapons of the Gods wuxia RPG in 2005 based directly on this comic series, and a Chinese animated adaptation, Shen Bing Xiao Jiang, followed in 2006. These volumes are the original source material.
Long out of print. ComicsOne ceased operations in 2005.
