Vintage Warwood alloy steel cross-pein sledge hammer with railroad property markings.
The head is marked WARWOOD, ALLOY, and 76. It is also stamped CMStP&P RR, identifying it with the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul & Pacific Railroad, commonly known as the Milwaukee Road.
This is a heavy railroad and industrial striking hammer with a round striking face on one end and a long narrow cross-pein on the opposite end. The forged steel head shows remnants of older red paint, dark patina, oxidation, scratches, impact wear, and general working wear consistent with long-term use.
The wooden handle remains installed and has a black rubber-style grip sleeve over the lower portion. The handle shows age, discoloration, surface wear, and cracks as shown.
The railroad property stamp and Warwood markings remain visible and make this a strong piece of Milwaukee Road railroadiana as well as a collectible vintage industrial tool.
Likely mid-20th century, approximately 1940s–1960s. Exact production year is unknown.

CONDITION
Used vintage condition with substantial age and working wear.
The forged steel head shows oxidation, dark patina, scratches, impact marks, surface wear, and remnants of older red paint. The striking face and cross-pein both show use. WARWOOD, ALLOY, 76, and CMStP&P RR markings remain visible.
The wooden handle shows age, discoloration, cracks, and surface wear. A black grip sleeve is installed over the lower portion of the handle.
