Vintage WWII Era AN-6531 Style Aviator Flight Glasses & Bausch & Lomb Aluminum Case

A remarkable piece of mid-century aviation history, this authentic World War II-era military flight setup features the iconic AN-6531 specification aviator design. True to wartime contract production runs intended for field issue, the wire frames are cleanly unbranded, letting their exceptional tactical engineering speak for itself. The glasses boast a genuine vintage Bakelite/celluloid brow bar and a specialized single-piece soldered nose bridge that seamlessly incorporates the bakelite nose pad arms—a rugged design engineered to minimize structural fail points in the cockpit. The classic, flexible comfort cable temples are in incredibly rare, intact condition; the springy arms still feature their original protective end guards tipped with the distinctive small brown rubber balls designed for helmet stability. The aviators house their original, period-correct pale green ground mineral glass lenses, known for their lightweight, thin-profile construction. The complete set comes housed in an authentic, vintage Bausch & Lomb thin-profile stamped aluminum case. The rugged, aircraft-grade metal exterior snaps shut tightly, opening to reveal its original thin tan felt lining. A pristine, completely intact "theatre-issue" survival kit that makes a stellar addition to any advanced militaria or historical optics collection.
