An authentic, original World War I US Army M1913/M1917 heavy olive drab wool overcoat. This "doughboy" trench coat is dated 1917 and features a phenomenal array of period-sewn, original insignia that tells the story of a soldier who saw significant service in Europe with the American Expeditionary Forces (AEF).Insignia & Details:

• Left Shoulder: Original 1st Army Engineers patch (Black wool "A" with the iconic red engineer castle).
• Right Sleeve: Master Sergeant rank chevrons.
• Lower Left Sleeve: Three gold/khaki inverted Overseas Service Stripes, representing 18 months of active service in the European theater of operations.
• Buttons: Features its original dull brass/bronze US Army eagle buttons.

Condition Notes:
This coat is in excellent historical condition for being over 100 years old. The wool remains strong and displays beautifully. Please Note: One front button has recently detached due to age-brittle thread.
