WWI 1914 Iron Core Brass Frame Imperial German Iron Cross First Class EK1 By MFH For Sale

See photos for condition. This a period original, and hard to find variant by the maker M. Fleck und Sohn, Hamburg. This maker used a distinctive crown that was not used by any other maker. The 1st Class versions are almost always found without the maker mark, where the 2nd Class almost always has \'MFH\' pressed into the ring.
The pin lockup is tight and there is no separation between the front frame and back plate. The paint loss is typical for this maker, just as KO crosses. Both makers seemed to have issues with paint adherence, so it is unusual to find an example with all of the paint intact.
