John McLaren was born in April 1895 in Birkenhead.
On leaning school he was a stationers errand boy.
On joining the army he was allocated the number 115412 and joined the machine gun corps.
He was awarded a wound stripe for actions on the 24th July 1918.
After the war he worked as a joiner and he died 30 in 1925.
