I researched the logo on the case and it is the United States Army Rainbow Sword:
The most common metal cigarette cases featuring a flaming sword were producedduring the Allied occupation of Germany.

• The Logo: Features a vertical "Sword of Liberation" with red flames leaping from the blade. It is typically topped by a multi-colored rainbow and set against a solid black or dark blue shield.
• The Context: Authorized by General Dwight D. Eisenhower, this emblem represented liberation breaking the darkness of Nazi oppression.
• Case Design: These are usually silver-tone or brass cases. The front often features an enameled plaque of the insignia alongside an engraved topographical map of the US Occupation Zone highlighting cities like Frankfurt, Munich, and Stuttgart.

• Flaming Sword: An upright, double-handed sword wrapped in red flames represents justice breaking the power of the enemy.
• Rainbow: A multi-colored arc at the top symbolizes hope and incorporates the colors of the Allied national flags.
• Dark Blue Background: Signifies the darkness of oppression that the military force works to overcome.
• Sky Blue Chief: Represents restored peace and calm.
• Motto: The unit's associated motto is "Sword of Freedom".
