Thisbayonet is in super excellent condition and might be new old stock.The blade, guard and pommel are all excellent as well as the finish.The finish has some slight wear on the pommel and guard but the bladeis near 100%. The wood hand looks very nice with some minor dings andmarks. It has a nice and tight fit. The hilt is stamped 1913, 1-17,W. The other side has some British markings. The push button releaseworks as expected.
Theleather scabbard is excellent and strong with very little finishwear. There is some light patina peppering on the metal with thelower piece having a few minor surface scratches and the tip withoutthe finish. There are some minor marks and very few surface dings onthe leather. You would be hard pressed to find a nicer set.
TheWinchester Pattern 1913 (P1913) bayonet primarily fits the BritishPattern 1914 (P14) Enfield rifle (.303 caliber) and the U.S.Model of 1917 (M1917) Enfield rifle (.30-06 caliber).
