Up for sale are 3 stock certificates of the Wilkes‑Barre Transit Corporation from 1951-1953. They are a rare piece of Pennsylvania transit & financial ephemera, fully signed by both the President and Treasurer of the company.
The Wilkes‑Barre Transit Corporation is part of the history of public transport in Northeastern Pennsylvania. Its roots trace back to earlier streetcar operations in Wilkes‑Barre, and by the early 1950s the transit company had shifted toward trackless trolleys and buses — reflecting the broader mid‑century shift in U.S. urban transit.

Condition: I am not a professional and these come from my father’s collection of antique stocks & bonds. Given their age, they shows toning, foxing, edge wear and cancellation marks. Please see photos as there is some brown “glue?” Stain on one side on all 3. It was printed by GOES
