It features a handle and hook for easy carrying and hanging.Caroffere lamps were essential for miners before the advent of electric lighting. They worked by dripping water onto calcium caroffere, which produced acetylene gas to fuel the bright flame. While showing signs of age and use, the lamp has a beautiful patina. This would make an excellent addition to any mining antique or lamp collection.Appears to be designed to be hung or held. Approx. Dimensions: 6-1/2" T (not including handle or hook) x 3-1/8" W x 5" D w/3-3/8" ReflectorSold as is. No warranty from the seller. No Returns.CONDITION NOTE: Used, but in Very Good condition overall for its age. Not tested. The lantern has various nicks, dents, scratches with some surface corrosion and dust/dirt (see pictures). It opens and still has a rubber seal, but dried out (see pictures). Does not include the original box and does not include any user documentation.
