Description and Condition

Vintage WWII M1 Helmet Liner Inland Sunburst Marion Military Institute Cadet Painted Post WWII. As shown, Marion Military Institute decals are on each side of the helmet. Manufactured by Westinghouse, as shown in the interiormark included. Helmet measures approximately 10 3/8" long x 8.75" wide x 7" tall. Marion Military Institute (MMI), located in Marion, Alabama. Founded in 1842, it holds the distinction of being the nation's oldest military junior college. MMI utilizes standard US military surplus gear for its cadet corps training and parades. After World War II, surplus white-painted M1 liners with custom school decals were widely used by the institute's cadet staff, color guards, or military police units on campus.
Selling helmet as found / as is. In good pre-owned condition with overall surface wear consistent with age. Not sure if interior green straps are original to the helmet. Exterior white paint is chipping in some sections (see close-ups). Please review all images included as this is the exact item you will bereceiving.
