Vintage real photo stereoview capturing a fantastic late 1800s New York City scene featuring donkeys lined up in Central Park, with handlers and early urban life unfolding in the background. A great slice of everyday NYC history from the horse-and-carriage era, showing working animals that were once a normal part of city transportation and park life. Marked “Donkeys in Central Park, New York” and copyrighted 1896 by Alfred S. Campbell, a well-known stereoview publisher of the time.
Condition is solid for its age with expected antique wear. Toning throughout from age, light edge and corner wear, and some surface marks visible on both front and back. There is a visible vertical line near the center—this is part of the original photographic production and not a crease or damage. Card remains structurally sound with no major bends or breaks.
