The Story:
A beautiful vintage lot of four decorative taper candles by Past Times of Oxford, England, presented in two original retail boxes with two candles in each box.
These elegant ivory-colored candles feature an intricate scrolling floral design in deep green and red, strongly reflecting the Victorian Medieval Revival and William Morris / Arts & Crafts aesthetic.
The original packaging describes the scrolling decoration as:
“A Victorian adaptation of medieval manuscript decoration first published in 1882.”
The elaborate grape, vine-leaf, and scrolling botanical motifs give these candles a distinctly William Morris-inspired appearance and make them especially attractive for period décor, Victorian interiors, Arts & Crafts collections, holiday tables, or decorative display.

New Old Stock (NOS) vintage condition.
All four candles appear unused and remain housed in their original retail packaging.
The candles themselves are exceptionally well preserved with vivid printed decoration and intact wicks. No evidence of burning or previous use was observed.
The original dark green Past Times boxes remain present and display well. Because these are vintage store-stock items, the packaging shows some minor shelf and storage wear, including light edge rubbing, small scuffs, and occasional marks.
No significant damage to the candles was observed.
