The small side satchel is a miniature representation of a historical cavalry "sabretache" (saber pocket), used by soldiers because their uniforms lacked pockets. The hand-painted gold emblem features the intertwined royal cipher "F.R." which stands for Fridericus Rex (Latin for King Frederick the Great of Prussia, reigned 1740-1786). This marks the figure specifically as a Prussian-style Hussar modeled after 18th-century regiments.

Condition & Functionality:This piece is in good vintage shape and is being sold as-is with a couple cosmetic imperfections:

• Mechanical Condition: Excellent working order. The nutcracking lever device on the back moves smoothly and functions perfectly. The jaw opens and closes completely free of any sticking.The figure stands firmly attached to its solid, square slate-gray wooden display base.
• Cosmetic Notes:
1. The blade/shaft of the sword is missing below the golden hilt.
2. The small shako hat finialis missing.
3. Minor paint scuff / loss on the left side of the left eye, on the edge of the hat, and on the nose. Please see photos for all of the above.
