Vintage Delta Tau Delta Ihling Bros Greek Fraternal Ritual Robes - Lot of 5 with Embroidered Patches
These robes came from an estate where they all were from Delta Tau Delta. If you look at my other listing I have the vice presidents robe that has it embroidered on the chest. These came from the same box as those others
remarkable, crisp set of five (5) vintage fraternal/Greek letter organization initiation ritual robes. These were manufactured by the renowned Ihling Bros. Everard Co. of Kalamazoo, Michigan, highly regarded for producing top-tier lodge and collegiate regalia throughout the 20th century.
These robes feature an open-front, high-collar design with exquisite, distinct embroidered and appliquéd officer/rank symbols on the chest.
Robe & Patch Breakdown:
Green Satin Shield with Gold Lyre: Represents the Chorister / Musician / Director of Music station.
Gold Fasces (Rods & Axe): High-quality direct embroidery representing the Sergeant-at-Arms / Warden / Marshal station.
Purple Caduceus (Staff & Snakes): Direct embroidery representing the Scribe / Secretary / Corresponding Officer station (includes a matching draped purple satin shoulder piece/stole with gold Greek fret/key trim)
Red Satin Shield with Silver Chevron: Represents the Guide / Guard / Junior Officer station.
Black Satin Shield with Silver Radiating Star:** Represents the Chaplain / Ritualist / Prelate station.
Condition Notes:
The fabric on all five garments is remarkably crisp, bright white, and structurally sound with tight stitching on all patches. The colors on the satin patches are vibrant and show no significant fading.
Please note the following two minor flaws: the last two photos I’ve taken show very small flaws on the robe, and a patch that bled through a bit when I tried washing these. Other than that these are crisp white and ready for a new fraternity
